THE TRAGEDY OF RICHARD III was nominated for BEST PRODUCTION at the Buxton Festival Fringe 2008 and futhermore, FIVE GO MAD IN BUXTON AGAIN was the winner of BEST FAMILY SHOW at the Buxton Festival Fringe.

Sci-Fi London, in association with the Sci-Fi channel launched their 48 hour Fim Challenge at 10:30 Saturday morning. Barry was in York filming with Kitchen Sink Films on what turned out to be a cold Sunday morning in the snow!

The first draft of an adaptation for a stage version of a major British film complete. After a few more drafts, Barry will be sending this on to Producers who he hopes will take on this play.

Barry returns from Spain after three months touring with Forum Teatro.

Barry flies out to Valencia, Spain to commence rehearsals for this season's tour with Forum Teatro y educaccion. Barry is looking forward to seeing Spain and learning it's language.

An audition today with Beverley Keogh's team at Ardwick Green Nth, Manchester. This was an improvisation based audition.

Saturday's recall must have paid off as Barry has been offered a place with Forum Teatro from 25th September '06. Touring Spain will be amazing but will prove to be very hard work so he has his work cut out for him over there but relishes the challenge (as always!)

An audition for Forum Teatro i Educacion today. It is a school tour to teach native speakers of Spain the language that is English through the means of theatre! Back on saturday for a recall in a group 27th / 28th May '06 Barry worked on a 48 hour film challenge at the weekend. For him, this was to explore how hard the crew work on shooting footage. This ties in with his interest in how Stage Management, etc in a theatre production works with the actor. This will help benefit him in the future on T/V & Film work (Short Film entitled ROYAL FLUSH)

Today another workshop audition, again in York but this time for the StageWorks Theatre. A new theatre company dedicted to making amazing professional theatre. Kicking off their season with John Godber's BOUNCERS (auditioned for Les), then in Autumn / Winter into Bram Stoker's DRACULA (auditioned for Renfield & J. Harker) and Charles Dickens's A CHRISTMAS CAROL (auditioned for Fred)

A workshop audition for Rickety Shack Films in York for Human Residue (working title) today. They are a non-profit organisation of film-makers out to prove that you do not need a high-budget to make great feature films.

Barry auditioned for the role of Romeo for a new Feature Film - ROMEO & JULIET. He has been asked back to also read for the role of Mercutio, Romeo's friend some time soon.

A new play, HAVE A VERY NICE DAY is complete. Barry's first ever play will be entered into the Royal Exchange Theatre's competition to discover new writing. Sponsored by Bruntwood and A&B New Partners, The Bruntwood Playwriting Competition showcases the best of the new writing entered before 30th April'06 and produce the winning plays in July 2007. The winning plays will be published by NICK HERN BOOKS, the UK's leading specialist publisher of plays, screenplays and theatre books.

An audition in Liverpool for a Horror film to be shot in and around the North West - Manchester and Liverpool.

Barry has written a 5 minute Stand-Up comedy show to be used tonight at The Other Side Comedy Club (tonight - Expanse Hotel, Bridlington). Run by Jon Reed, this comedy club offers some of the best talent on the circuit. A Perrier nominee himself, Reed compere's the show and lets newcomers, like Barry, try the stage out with hopefully a round of applause.

Rehearsal for the new AA commercial singing "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor. Barry didn't do the final shoot in the Lake District due to several problems.

Following Nix, Barry played John, a supporting role in Gemma Hodgson's Short Film, SEE HOW IT GOES, Crystal Polaris Films alongside Laura Hulse (Oranda) as she deals with her illness of invisibility. People do not take notice of Oranda and this has a drastic affect on her self-confidence causing her to feel invisible and literally fading between natural state and invisbility. John is of no help to her cause to get better and we see how it affects her life in this documentary.
3rd / 6th November '05
Barry has been filming a short film in Stoke over the past couple of days (Thur & Sun) as he is the lead Role (James) in Andrew Dickinson's Short Film, NIX, Nix Films. James is trying to deal with a post-apocalyptic trauma of Zombies having taken over Britain, killing his parents in the process. He meets a survivor, Laura (Emma Case) but is transfixed in a state called Nix where he believes in his own world and imagines the dead bar owner (Drew Tooth) alive and well talking to him.

An audition today for a few short films to be made at the beginning of next month in Stoke-on-Trent.

Barry has just finished 7 weeks on HYPERDRIVE for BBC2 as a Cadet Officer on board the Camden Lock.

Barry plays a Detective in Kudos' (Spooks, Hustle) and BBC's new Drama series, LIFE ON MARS. While listening to David Bowie's hit of 1973 on his iPod, Sam (John Simm, Blue / Orange, 24 Hour Party People) travels back to said year after a nasty R.T.A. searching for his girlfriend in 2006. Barry will feature in Episode 6 as a Regional Crime Squad Detective - a rival team of "cops" to Gene Hunt's (Philip Gelnnister, Last Rights, Kingdom of Heaven) department. Barry accompanies DCI Litton (Lee Ross, Catherine Tate Show) with fellow Detective, musician Dave Sharp (The Alarm, Soul Company)
