The Tempest

by William Shakespeare

Dir. Laura Hawley

I enjoy Shakespeare's work even though it requires deep concentration on my part to follow the dialogue and sort out the plot... The cast give it their best shots, with boundless enthusiasm and the comic moments are seized upon with delight, especially from Barry Evans and Iain Winstanley as drunken coutiers, Stephano and Trinculo.

Ashgirl

by Timberlake Wertenbaker

Dir. Paul Elsam

The acting is first class. The Deadly Sins materialize as woodland animals and each of them is accurately portrayed using movement and expression, as are the friendly otter, mouse and owl. Mariia Viita as Ash Girl displays a sweet vulnerability, Clare Boyes and Emma Hanson are splendidly obnoxious as her selfish sisters and Barry Evans is a commanding Arab Prince.
